Link with my past

TAG Heuer has announced a rejuvenated Link Series. You may remember the original model, presented almost a quarter of a century ago under the strangely Japanese-style name of S/el (Sport and Elegance). The Link was and is a splendid watch mainly because of the fantastic steel bracelet with links (yes, that's why it is called Link) consisting of two S-shaped pieces.
I have never discovered a more comfortable bracelet. I got my first Link in 1992, a quartz model that my girl friend bought me as a birthday present.  It was utterly indestructible, but I managed to wreck it during one of many rows with the same girl friend. I brought my fist down on a side table that lost all of its legs. The bracelet snapped and the sapphire glass broke. I threw the watch away later because it symbolised everything I hated in people. Now, finally, I am at peace with the Link. In its latest guise it looks great. I ordered one because it symbolises everything I love in watches.
