Not so very long ago an old watch was exactly that: an old product from a watch factory. But appreciation for old watches has gradually gained momentum. Of course there have always been special watches that are old and valuable and demand high prices at watch auctions. But you couldn’t say there was a general love of old watches. This has changed spectacularly in the past 10 years. The number of people choosing a vintage watch is increasing every year. More and more well-known and lesser-known jewellers are setting up special “vintage corners” and some even focus completely on this special aspect of the watch trade.
