E-mail Print PDF
Jan HubertIn the ongoing development of watch parts from new materials like silicium a major role is played by CSEM, Centre Suisse d’Ëlectronique et de Microtechnique, in Neuchâtel. CSEM is skilled in Microsystems technology, precision mechanics and robotics. On July 13, 2010 a cooperation was announced between CSEM and HE-Arc Ingénierie, the Haute École Arc Ingénierie, also in Neuchâtel. HE-Arc Ingénierie will contribute its expertise in the conception and design of watchmaking movements and components and has recently designed tools for designing non-circular gears, which make new functionalities possible.

Nico de Rooij, vice-president of CSEM Microsystems Division, and Max Monti, Head of Applied Research at HE-Arc Ingénierie, are delighted because the companies complement each other, especially in watchmaking.
