Corum Admiral’s Cup fifty years!

E-mail Print PDF
Jan HubertCorum, which was founded in 1955 and taken over in 2000 by Severin Wundermann (who passed away in 2008), has surprised the watch world with striking watches like the Golden Bridge. However, the most typical Corum watch is, without any doubt, the Admiral’s Cup.
This year Corum, which has become more and more involved in sailing competitions, celebrates the 50th birthday of this iconic model with a number of new models, all with hefty 48 mm cases.
All Admiral’s Cup models have the characteristic 12-sided watchcases, but there are considerable differences. This year’s Admiral’s Cup Deep Hull 48 is a diver’s watch, a first!, with a titanium case, waterproof to 1000 m and a unidirectional rotating bezel; the COSC-certified automatic CO0947 calibre has a power reserve of 42 hours. Only 500 numbered pieces will be produced.
Unlimited is the number of the Admiral’s Cup Foudroyante 48, a split-seconds chronograph with the COSC-certified CO0895 calibre with automatic winding; its case is of titanium with a bezel of vulcanized rubber.
Another new Admiral’s Cup model is the Chronograph 48 Bol d’Or Mirabeau, produced in a limited edition of 35 pieces, and dedicated to the Bol d’Or Mirabeau sailing regatta’s.
Even less pieces, namely 25,  will be produced of the Admiral’s Cup Chronograph 48 Grand Prix Corum, with a case of titanium and a bezel of vulcanized rubber; the COSC-certified automatic CO753 calibre has a power reserve of 48 hours.
