Thomas van der Kallen (47), former president of Ebel, will join the management of Christiaan van der Klaauw Astronomical Watches, starting 1st of September 2010.
As President, Van der Kallen will mainly be engaged with product development and the international expansion of the small, but prestigious Dutch brand. Van der Kallen: "I have always been a great admirer of the Christiaan van der Klaauw watches. It is a beautiful, authentical brand, and the only one in the world specialised in astronomical watches. In the past, Van der Klaauw has only been focused on the Dutch market. I am certain that the brand will be a great succes in other countries, because of its unique character" Thomas van der Kallen has worked in several departments of the Richemont Group, from 1990 to 2004. From 2005 until 2010, he was President of Ebel, a brand which he has rejuvenated.
