LVMH acquires ArteCad

Karel HubertLVMH has reinforced its position in watchmaking by acquiring 100% of the shares of ArteCad SA. ArteCad is one of the leading manufacturers of watch dials in Switzerland and produces more than 350,000 dials a year. The LVMH watch brands are its clients, but also many other prestigious Swiss watch brands. The company was founded in 1885 and has today 215 employees; the main production facility is in Tramelan. Since 2004, ArteCad was owned by Philippe Hubbard and Christophe Gouthier, who also managed the company and oversaw its modernization and expansion since then. Both men will continue as managers of their former company. ArteCad has integrated expertise of all dial manufacturing processes and can react to every client’s wishes thanks to rapid prototyping and innovation capability.

The division Watches & Jewellery of LVMH, the largest luxury group in the world, has as watch brands TAG Heuer, Zenith, Hublot and Dior Montres; in addition, the LVMH-brands Bulgari, Chaumet, Fred and De Beers Jewellery (a joint-venture) also have watches in their collections.
